Learn From Your Past And Achieve Home Based Business Success Today

Have you ever heard the saying that the past determines your future? No where is this more apparent than in the home based business industry. One thing that many home business owners do not take into account when they get started with a new opportunity is their history and what they learned from it if anything.

Do you learn from history?

I have found that there are three different types of home based business owners out there trying to make money online. As you read through these see what category you might fall into:

Home Based Business Owner #1

The best description for this person is a home business junkie. They jump around from program to program looking to find that "home run" opportunity where they don't have to do any work and still make a bunch of money. A home business junkie ends up running through 10 to 20 opportunities and still can't figure out why they aren't rolling in the dough. They never learn anything from their past mistakes and just keep committing them over and over again expecting to get different results.

Home Based Business Owner #2

This person has failed in the past but is always learning from their mistakes. Although they might not have found success with one company, they are able to take responsibility for failure and do what it takes to achieve success in the future. After finding the best company for them and getting some good training this person often finds a home and stays put instead of jumping from company to company. Perseverance pays off and success is almost always the result.

Home Based Business Owner #3

This person is the experienced home business owner who finds success no matter what company or opportunity they are a part of. They have the system, training and skills to make money anywhere. They realize that having a great company is only half the equation and the other half lies solely in their skills to generate sales and income.

So what category would you say you fit into right now? Unfortunately most people fall into the home business junkie category because they never learn from their past experiences. Here are a few questions to consider when deciding exactly where you are at right now.

#1 - Where have you been and what have you learned? What background do you have that has taught you something that could play a role in your success as a home business owner today?

#2 - What have you learned from your home business mistakes? Every entrepreneur makes mistakes as they are working through their business. No matter if you are brand new or a seasoned pro, mistakes can happen for many reasons. But, the difference is if you allow it to happen again. If not, then you can find success much easier and faster than if you repeat the same mistake time and time again.

#3 - What do you wish you would have done differently in your past home business ventures? Regrets do not have to be wasted this time. As an entrepreneur, you may have several regrets in mind. Perhaps you feel as if you have lost a great deal of time getting your business up and running. Now, take this regret and determine what you would do today that would be different. Would you start your business sooner? Put more into it sooner?

Understanding these aspects of your past can help you determine exactly what type of home business owner you are now and help you correct the problem if you are going in the wrong direction.

Your history is solely yours. Whether you look at a personal life history and your business or just the business alone, it is essential to stop and look and learn.

Making mistakes today is not easy to do. No one wants to do it, but if it does happen to you, do the following.

#1 - Recognize that something did not go right. Do not get angry about it (if possible!) and realize that something went wrong.

#2 - Determine what it was and determine how it happened. Getting the full story, learning the whole puzzle will allow for better understanding. Learning how it happened allows you to see in full detail what the mistake was.

#3 - Decide to improve your chances of not letting that mistake happen again. To do this, insure that you spend the necessary time making decisions to avoid this problem.

All Histories Are Not Bad

It is important to note that history does not always have to tell you the bad side of things. You can and you should see the good things that have happened in your history as well. What was it that got you to this success level that you are at today? What was it that makes that first sale happen and happen so well?

Taking a look at the good things that have happened in the past is part of the principal of looking to the past for answers of your future. They allow you to see a true benefit to the good that has happened in your home business. You may even be able to take note of the way that the good has happened to make it happen again and again into your home business’s future as well.

In closing, when you take the time to analyze all of the good and the bad that has happened in your past, you can make sure that the benefits come through in the future while the mistakes do not. As part of your future success, you must understand your history and how to secure the future through this huge amount of knowledge that you've obtained along the way. Believe it or not, this is a personal touch and experience no one else can have.
